Trans-Atlantic Flights for 10 Euros

22 Oct 2008 - London, England, United Kingdom

November 2, 2008

London (iTourist.com News) – Ryanair, one of the largest European low cost carriers, is looking across the pond to the United States. New trans-Atlantic services will be offered for as little as 10 Euros.

Michael O’Leary, chief executive officer for the budget carrier, is expected to announce the plans Monday.

Unlike Ryanair’s European services, the new trans-Atlantic service will include a business class. “Economy class will be very cheap, around 10 Euros, but our business class will be very expensive,” said Mr. O’Leary in a newspaper interview.

The new flights will likely operate to cities such as Boston, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, and San Francisco. While some seats will go for as little as 10 Euros, additional costs such as taxes will apply.

Ryanair is expected to acquire a significant number of aircraft, but specifics have yet to be released. The carrier currently operates a fleet of 160 Boeing 737-800’s and provides service to 26 European countries.
