Not only do vehicles powered by gasoline pollute but they are part of an oil dependency problem the western world faces. It’s no secret the western world is addicted to oil. The result: gasoline prices bursting through the roof, money leaking out of your bank account, oil companies making record profits, and the skies, full of smog.

Consumers are waking up to this problem as they go to fuel their automobiles. A tank that used to cost $20 to fill now costs over $40. With prices at the pump starting to hurt, individuals are finally starting to purchase hybrid vehicles and are looking for vehicles powered by alternative fuels.

For those who travel and require rental cars, there is good news as automobile rental companies such as Bio-Beetle are now offering consumers the option to rent cars which do not use fossil-fuels. Bio-Beetle, based on the island of Maui in Hawaii, offers rental cars which run using biodiesel made from 100% recycled vegetable oil. Biodiesel is a cleaner burning diesel fuel made from completely natural and renewable sources.

If you’re looking to save money on fuel, the news is good! Vehicles which run on biodiesel get better fuel mileage than vehicles which run on regular unleaded gasoline. On top of that, as of mid-April, biodiesel is 80 cents cheaper per gallon than regular gasoline in Maui. In Los Angeles, biodiesel is approximately the same price as regular unleaded.

Bio-Beetle is currently established at two locations and customers may rent in Kahului, Hawaii, on the Island of Maui upon arrival into Maui-Kahului Airport (OGG) as well as in Los Angeles with a rental facility just off-site at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

With the soaring price of gasoline combined with the pollution from traditional, fossil-fueled, gasoline powered cars, next time you need to rent or hire a care, shop around for an eco-friendly choice.
