THIS IS THE SEARCH PANEL

Use the forces of Mother Nature to skim the surface of some of the most beautiful waterways in the world. Kiteboarding and windsurfing draw on the power of the wind to create an exhilarating water sport that gives you complete freedom on the waves.

While windsurfing and kiteboarding are completely different, you will often see participants of both sports in the same spot, since they both need fairly similar conditions. A windsurf looks like a surfboard with a sail stuck on it, while the newer kiteboard looks more like a surfboard with a parachute stuck on it. Either way, you’re sure to have a heap of fun with these wind powered contraptions!

Australia has some top class windsurfing and kiting locations, dotted all around the coast. The perfect location has grassy banks or long stretches of sand to rig up on, consistent strong wind conditions all year round, nothing to snag your lines like trees or rocks and of course endless stretches of water for you to explore! You’ll find spots like these on the coast at beautiful beaches, or inland at any number of rivers, lakes and dams that put a sparkle in the eyes of any windsurfer or kiteboarder.

If you’re looking for some guidance, you can find schools of both sports all around the country. The people who run the lessons are friendly, and have a real passion for their sport so you know you’re with someone who’s out to make sure you get the most from your lesson. It doesn’t take long to learn, so hop on a board and get out on the water!
