Abseiling offers a world of contrast in Queensland. On the one hand, you can descend through areas of pristine wilderness and on the other, you can fall face first down the side of a building in the state’s bustling capital city. The choice is yours, and no matter what you decide on it’s sure to be a thrill.
Known for their beauty, the Glasshouse Mountains are also a favourite spot for abseiling. Take in the serenity of the surrounding area as you push off from the vertical cliff face. Expert instructors will teach you everything you need to know before you make your descent, but then you’d better be prepared for the adrenaline rush that comes with dangling over the side of a cliff on a thin rope! When you’re done, cool off in a glorious mountain rock pool.
For something a bit different, try an abseil by moonlight on the Sunshine Coast. With the full moon lighting your way, this drop combines romance with adventure in the beautiful natural surrounds. Finish the night off with a barbeque, desert and champagne at the bottom of the mountain.
Look down on the streets of Brisbane before running like a spider down one of its multi-story buildings. Urban Rap Jumping is the latest in extreme sports, and its catching on quickly. If one jump isn’t enough, you can take the lift back up and do it again!
