Experience the buzz of being lifted into the air as you run down the gentle slopes of a New South Wales hillside. The wings of your hang glider will catch the breeze and take you high into the air, or you can try the fastest growing form of free flying around – paragliding.
If you’re new to free flying, a tandem instructional flight is the way to go. You don’t need any training, and within a matter of minutes your instructor will have taught you all the basics of riding the air currents. Then you can just relax and enjoy the view.
Hang gliding courses are held at Bald Hill right next to the Royal National Park. Once in the air your body is entirely enclosed, and this marks the start of your thirty minute flight around this beautiful area. Directly below you are the rainforests, woodlands and eucalypt forests of the national park, and if you look to the east you’ll catch a glimpse of the rolling shores of the New South Wales coast. This is a view usually reserved for the birds.
Further inland you’ll find the country’s internationally famous paragliding district – Manilla. Warm currents reflecting off the ground push you high into the atmosphere over the vast countryside. Explore ‘Big Sky’ country and soar like the eagles on a paragliding flight over New South Wales.
