THIS IS THE SEARCH PANEL

Australia is the sixth largest country , the smallest continent and the largest island in the world. Within it’s borders lies an amazing array of geographical landmarks situated in a varied and dramatic landscape.

Australia is famous for it’s outback – the quintessential rugged bushland featured in many films, advertisements and Aussie images. The desert outback is harsh, barren and mystifyingly beautiful. Endless sands roll like waves under a perfect blue sky, the red dust billowing with each gust of wind.

Uluru – or Ayers Rock – rises from the parched desert sands like an historical tableau, offering visitors panoramic vistas and the opportunity to connect with the ancient Aboriginal traditions of the land.

Large areas of grasslands cover the eastern states, ending where the Blue Mountains and other ranges rise towards the clouds, adding a snowy, frozen element to this land of contrasts.

Lush forests can be found in Tasmania and Western Australia’s south, with Karri, Jarrah and Eucalypts creating a lush green wonderland. The tropical north of Queensland , the Northern Territory and Western Australia produces spectacular rainforests teeming with life and wonders.

The geography of Australia’s gorges are world-famous. Stand on the edge of these ancient channels in the earth and marvel at the power of nature to sculpt spectacular scenery from bare rock.

Australia is probably most famous for its beaches – millions of kilometres of perfect white sand stretching along the coastland, beckoning visitors to splash, swim or just stand in awe at the sight.

Australia offers every possible geography in one national package – mountains, plains, deserts, rainforests, beaches and gorges. A nation of constant spectacle.
