Growing up around the river, the state’s first vine was planted in the earth at what is now Yering Station in 1838. Famous for sparking whites and Pinot Noirs the region is home to over 55 wineries, many of which make the most of other local produce by serving delicious meals to go with their fine wines. Tour the region’s award winning estates and sample wines born of a temperate climate, rich soil and tender loving care.
Drive along the Great Grape Road, winding its way through the wine growing regions of western Victoria. Take a few days or more to sample all thirty cellar doors along this scenic wine trail. The cooler-climate wines from this region are world renowned, with each region having its own distinct flavour.
