THIS IS THE SEARCH PANEL

While the Northern Territory may not be the first place you think of when you want to go shopping, it does have something to offer that is truly unique. If you’re after something that is distinctly Australian, then this is the place to look for it. Crocodile skin products can be found at a variety of outlets, or for something more delicate, top quality pearls are harvested and sold here. There are a number of galleries in Darwin and Alice Springs that sell Aboriginal works of art as well as crafts. Apart from this, there are some large air-conditioned shopping complexes around major cities, and Darwin’s Smith Street Mall has heaps of specialty outlets. The real reason to shop here, though, is the individual quality of the products you can find, so keep your eyes open.

Markets in the Northern Territory are also an unforgettable experience. Searching for that bargain on a Darwin beach while the sun goes down is something you won’t want to miss. Wander throughout the stalls that sell arts, crafts and exotic foods while live musicians play in the background. The markets are something of a social gathering here as well. Open on weekends, it’s a great way to get out and meet the locals in a friendly setting.
