Perth itself enjoys a warm Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and cool, wet winters. The summer average is 29C, down to a warm 17C at night. The Fremantle Doctor – the afternoon sea breeze – provides relief from the heat for coastal suburbs and towns.
Perth’s average winter temperature is 18C during the day, dropping to 9C at night. Winter isn’t always cold and rainy though, as Perth enjoys over 110 clear days a year and boasts an annual average of 8 hours of sun a day.
The northern part of the state experiences only two seasons per year, being the tropical wet and dry seasons. The best time of year to visit the northern pat of the state is during Winter and Spring in the the southern part of the state.
