Leave a trail of dust in your wake on a four wheel voyage across the state of South Australia. Long treks across the desert sands are the order of the day here, so make a journey of it and pack all your gear for an all out adventure!

A great dream for South Australian dune buggy riders is to cross the Simpson Desert into Queensland on a home made machine. The Great Victoria Desert and Nullarbor Plain are also attractive to those wanting to have a real outback adventure in the sand. This may not be a good idea if you’ve never ridden before. In fact, it may not be a good idea full stop, but that never stopped anyone before! This is the driest part of the country, and the journey takes days to complete. Still, if you want a real four wheel challenge a well prepared desert excursion could be the thing for you!

If this sounds just a little too adventurous, there are other options. Head out to Kangaroo Island for a quad bike tour along Yarraman Ridge. Take the whole family on a tour during the half-light hours when the wildlife comes out, or a day tour that takes you along bush trails and paddocks with wonderful ocean views. You’ll get expert tuition so you can relax if you’ve never been on a four wheeler before. Everything you need is included, and you’ll be geared up in helmet, goggles and gloves so you’ll really look the part too!
