Each gliding club in South Australia has its own unique focus and personality. If you’re just visiting, then go to one of the clubs specialising in joy flights and first timers. If you’re after something more permanent, many clubs have a community mindedness that brings people from all walks of life together to enjoy what they love the most – gliding.

South Australia’s wine region looks beautiful from the ground, so imagine seeing it from the air! Soar over some of the most picturesque spots in the state, and take in all the beauty of the Flinders Ranges, the Murray River or the outback from thousands of metres in the air.

Climate conditions around here are great for gliding during the warmer months. The countryside is very flat in parts, producing just the kind of environment gliders look for. The hot Aussie sun beats down on the earth, creating the thermal updrafts that are needed for long distance gliding.

Learning to fly is no problem in a glider. Be launched into the sky in a two seater dual control aircraft where you can experience the joy of flight while an expert instructor teaches you all you’ll need to know to one day fly the craft yourself. Learn how to find air currents that will take you high into the atmosphere, with nothing around but you and the sky.
