THIS IS THE SEARCH PANEL

Camping tours are popular in this part of the country, and it’s not too hard to see why. While you could try to find a decent spot on your own, given the size of the place this could take a while. There are campsites scattered all over the state, throughout national parks and most noteworthy areas. Camping is one of the most popular forms of accommodation here, as it’s warm all year round.

Aboriginal cultural tours are available throughout Kakadu and Arnhemland. An aboriginal guide will take you along the East Alligator River for a camping safari that teaches you about traditional cultures, bush foods, crafts and the spiritual connection the Aboriginal people have with the land.

For an all natural camping experience, sleep next to a billabong in Litchfield National Park. Many camping spots have shady areas for picnics, and Wangi Falls has a kiosk. There are several campsites located next to watering holes, which means you can go for a swim whenever you like. But make sure they’re croc free before you dive in!

Facilities here are usually kept to a minimum, even in designated camping areas. This is a great place for those prefer to rough in the outdoors. You may also want to go without a tent and sleep under the stars, as this part of the country has some of the clearest night skies in the world.
