Bungee Jumping is a recreational activity where you jump off an elevated place with one end of an elastic cord attached to your body and the other tied to the jumping off point. When you take the plunge and soar downwards, the cord will stretch to take the energy of the fall; your adrenalin will be soaring! Once the cord takes all of the oomph from your fall, you’ll then surge upwards and continue to bounce up and down until the initial energy of the jump dissipates.

There are many places through-out New Zealand to go bungee jumping (or bungy jumping). The word Bungy is said to be Kiwi slang for "Elastic Strap". Whether you take a bungee jump or a bungy jump, you are certain to get an adrenaline rush! In New Zealand there are many unique places you can go Bungee jumping including off of a harbour bridge.

There are a heap of variations on the standard jump, so you can go tandem with your best mate, ride your bike over the platform, take the plunge at night or even in the nude! The reverse bungee, or slingshot, is becoming increasingly popular. This is where you’re catapulted into the air at eighty kilometres an hour, suspended in the air for a few seconds before the bungee cords bounce you back down to earth! Then there’s the bungee trampoline, which lets you know what it must be like for a grasshopper!

Take the plunge and dive off a bungee platform for the thrill of your life!
